McCain has been an active public servant for more than a decade. He and his wife, Dr. Francine McCain, began serving the community through Ask Dr. Fran, a public outreach and education effort focused on women’s health that also raised funds and supported local community events.

In 2015, McCain began working with current TXCD-5 Congressman Lance Gooden during his successful bid to return to the Texas House. McCain later played a key role in Gooden’s winning 2017 campaign for Congress and has served on the congressman’s staff since that time. His work focuses on outreach and assisting constituents throughout the district.

McCain also served four and a half years on the Athens City Council and was selected by his fellow council members to serve as Mayor Pro Tem during that time.

If elected, McCain said his goal is to dispense justice in the most fair, proper, and reasonable way to better the county. He said his time as a business owner coupled with experience in public service, working with residents, and local government has prepared him to handle the responsibilities of the office with transparency, consistency, and accountability.

McCain and Dr. Fran have been married for 24 years. They have two children, Allison, a junior at Penn State University, and Warren, a freshman at the University of Texas at Austin.
